What this covers in detail

Grade 10 (10.º ano)

Decision methods — election and fair-division models — statistics with univariate and bivariate data, and mathematical models in finance, salaries, savings and credit.

Grade 11 (11.º ano)

Graph models and population models, probability models in discrete and continuous cases, and an introduction to statistical inference.

MACS is a different kind of maths: less algebra, more reasoning about elections, fair division, money and data. Students who do well in it are the ones who read a problem carefully and choose the right model. That is what these lessons practise.
