What this covers in detail

Grade 10 (10.º ano)

Química: chemical elements and their organisation, properties and transformations of matter. Física: energy and its conservation.

Grade 11 (11.º ano)

Química: chemical equilibrium and reactions in aqueous systems. Física: mechanics, and waves and electromagnetism.

Física e Química A is two subjects in one, examined together at the end of 11.º ano. Students often manage one component and struggle with the other. These lessons treat both with the same care, and connect them where the programme does.

Both components

Química and Física each get proper time — the plan follows where the student’s marks are actually being lost.

Laboratory activities too

The programme’s mandatory lab activities are examined. Lessons cover the procedures, data and error analysis they involve.

Exame Nacional in view

Past exams worked under time, with the calculation steps and justifications the marking criteria reward.

Common questions

Do you prepare for the Exame Nacional de Física e Química A?

Yes — it covers both years, and preparation works through past papers across both components.

My 3.º ciclo Físico-Química is weak. Can I still start here?

Yes. Gaps from 7.º–9.º ano are filled as they come up, so the 10.º ano content has something solid to build on.
