ACT math and science prep for the enhanced ACT
The redesigned test: a shorter math section with four answer choices, and a science section that is now optional. One-to-one prep for both.
What this covers in detail
Preparing for Higher Math
The largest part of the section: number and quantity, algebra, functions, geometry, and statistics and probability.
Integrating Essential Skills
Earlier content — rates, percentages, proportions, area and volume — combined in multi-step problems.
Modeling
Questions across the section that ask you to build, interpret and improve mathematical models.
Science (optional)
Interpreting data, scientific investigation, and evaluating models and evidence, in biology, chemistry, physics and Earth and space science.
The enhanced ACT changed the math section to 45 questions in 50 minutes and made science optional. The content is still high school math through early trigonometry, asked fast. These lessons work on content and pace together, and on the science section for students who choose to take it.
What this covers
The new format
Practice uses the enhanced test’s timing and four-choice questions, not older materials.
Pace is the skill
The ACT is faster than the SAT. Lessons train a pace that finishes the section without rushing the easy points.
Science is reading data
The science section rewards reading graphs and experiments quickly, more than recalling facts. That is what is practiced.

Common questions
Should I take the optional science section?
It depends on the colleges and programs you are applying to — some STEM programs want it. We can check your list together.
ACT or SAT?
Colleges accept both. A practice test of each is the best way to decide.
