Grade 10
The Mediterranean roots of European civilisation; Western Europe in the 13th–14th centuries; Europe’s opening to the world in the 15th–16th centuries.
Grade 11
Europe in the 17th–18th centuries; liberalism, ideology and revolution; industrial civilisation, nationalisms and imperialism.
Grade 12
Crises and ideological clashes of the first half of the 20th century; Portugal and the world from WWII to the early 1980s; today’s world.
História A is the three-year specific subject of the Línguas e Humanidades course, with a national exam (623) at the end of 12.º ano. It runs from the Mediterranean roots of European civilisation to the world today, with Portugal’s history at each stage. These lessons cover the three years.
